At California Breakfast Burritos, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support and education. The core of our efforts is sharing our passion for burros and their partnership with people. Through our endeavors we hope to teach others about these magical animals. Since our founding in 2018, we have been determined to make an impact putting burros in purposeful active lives. California Breakfast Burritos provides options to Meet the Burros, Volunteer Opportunities, Hikes, Burro Bootcamps, and instruction on the proper handling of a Burro. Below are the rules for visiting the California Breakfast Burritos.

Visits and training are by appointment only, we can be contacted directly by emailing RunWithTheBurros@gmail.com or by calling us at 760-677-5889.

No cost but donations are appreciated and essential to our operations. No one is paid and staff are 100 percent volunteer.

Please note that photos taken with the burros may be used for various purposes & social media.

Dogs - for their safety

Smoking or vaping on the property

Disrespect of others verbally or physically (human or burro)
Never...

Take your frustration or anger out on a donkey

Take a chance; if you are unsure (just ASK!)
Always...

Supervise all children

Treat burros and others with the utmost kindness, respect & courtesy

Ask questions if you do not know the answer

Close every gate you open and latch it behind you. Chains go under bars or the mule will open them

Wear closed-toed shoes

Dress appropriately and wear hats/sunscreen/gloves

Drink lots of water and take breaks
-
Be alert and aware of your surrounding and the burros attitudes

Minimize mobile phone use as you will NOT be alert & aware

Report all incidents and hazardous conditions to a staff member as soon as possible

Do Not…

Enter enclosures/pens/stalls without permission and supervision of an authorized adult

Climb panels or gates - you may crawl through carefully

Feed treats unless you have been told to do so

Loop lead rope around hand or fingers

Let burros eat on trail until work is done

No riding, you may push, pull or carry your donkey

Show up unannounced (access will not be granted if we do not know you’re coming)
