Adoptions
No Catalog
This is not a marketplace with donkeys for sale. You will not find a listing of available donkeys.
Individual Matches
Each donkey and home are unique and we strive to make a lasting matches. We approve adopters only after personal interviews to understand individual situations and provide advice and training to ensure the best chance for success. If a match doesn't work, we offer consultation, training, and lastly donkeys can be exchanged to find a better fit for your lifestyle and personality.
Safe Landing
Life happens - In the event you cannot keep a donkey adopted from CBB, they must be returned and always have a safe home here. They cannot be sold or given away.
BLM Burros
We also offer gentling of BLM burros from the Ridgecrest Corrals and can help you navigate the approval, adoption or purchase process. We highly recommend consulting us and and visiting the corrals together to select appropriate personality. It is a great advantage over online BLM adoptions as we have extensive experience and the opportunity to watch the burros at the corrals several times to help you with a selection.
Training Burros
Basic gentling of CBB or BLM adopted burros includes handling, brushing, halter, leading, lifting and cleaning feet, and loading in and out of a trailer. Additional training for trails, packing, hiking & running are available on request.
Training People
We encourage all adopters to take advantage of our training to show you personally how to do all these things and more with your burro. We gladly offer personal one on one training sessions and are always available to answer questions to make you successful.
How to Get Started
Reach out and connect with us. We need to understand your needs, experience, and what you can provide for your burros. Best is to schedule a visit to meet our donkeys, but we can also converse by phone, email, or text. The more effort you make in asking questions and letting us know your situation, the better match we can make connecting you with a burro or two.
